The IKos Olivia is a stunning All Inclusive beachfront 5 Star Resort located on a private beach in Gerakini (Greece), approximately 45 minutes drive from Thessaloniki airport. The Resort proudly boasts 295 Guest rooms and is comfortably spread over 22 acres of natural pristine gardens with a bountiful of meticulously groomed flowers and olive trees. The design of the Resort thoughtfully blends into the natural environment with all amenities unobtrusive and chic.
Upon arrival at the Resort we were greeted by half a dozen staff with porters at hand to manage our luggage – We were offered champagne whilst going through a swift and seamless check-in process and lunch at one of the 5 restaurants whilst our Suite was being prepared.
The Ikos Olivia has a bold mix of gastronomy on offer for discerning guests with some speciality menus at Michelin standard – Flavours is a ‘high end’ Mediterranean Buffet Restaurant with a dazzling array of cuisine and located a few yards from the lapping waters of the Aegean Sea – Ouzo serves a-la-carte Greek cuisine, Anaya specialises in a-la-carte pan Asian cuisine, Fusco specialises in a-la-carte authentic Italian cuisine and finally Provence restaurant which is located in the main building serving a-la-carte Provencal cuisine.
If all this is not enough, at the Ikos Olivia guests can arrange a ‘dine-out’ option which allows Guests to experience traditional Greek dining at a local restaurant.
Drinks at the Ikos Olivia are in abundance with 24-hour room service, a fully stocked/complimentary mini-bar and 6 bars across the Resort (Lounge Deluxe Collection bar, Helios Bar, Teatro bar, Aqua Pool bar, Almyra beach bar and Indigo bar) serving a wide range of spirits and tantalising signature cocktails with waiter service throughout the day.
Wine connoisseurs like myself will also be impressed with a choice of 300 wines to choose from and available all day.
Guests are never short of entertainment with the Resort offering a wide range of exceptional options from West End productions to superb live music acts at the Ikos open-air theatre and bars. These are publicised across the Resort and Guest Relations desk daily for information.
At the centre of the Resort Guests will find 4 high end boutiques retailing tailor made luxury furs, specialised leather garments, Kashmir coats, high quality hand-made jewellery, top brand time pieces, top quality sunglasses brands as well as a fully merchandised toys and gift store.
In addition to these delightful boutiques, there is a mini-market where you will find a good range of international newspapers, magazines and local produce. All purchases can conveniently be charged to your guest room for ease and comfort.
Decorated in natural earthly tones, white marble floors and a large seating area, the Ikos Spa by Anne Semonin is located in the main building and exudes an air of wellness as you enter.
